We plant 1 tree for every purchase you make
Your beard can save the world
Beginning in April 2017 we partnered with The Eden Projects to plant 1 tree for every purchase made. To date, The Eden Project has planted 2500 trees on our behalf. Trees are planted in either Ethiopia, Madagascar, or Haiti. California Beard Company is committed to helping make the world a better place and is joining the fight against deforestation, desertification, climate change, and poverty.
By supporting California Beard Company, you are not only supporting a small business, you are also helping restore vital ecosystems to severely devastated areas.
Just think about it...our beards can help rebuild a forest together .
The mission of Eden Projects is to recreate healthy forest systems that restore hope, alleviate suffering, empower people, and build local economies in impoverished communities. Eden reduces extreme poverty and restores healthy forests in Haiti, Madagascar and Nepal by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year. With a consistent income, Eden’s employees are able to provide for their families and as the reforestation effort goes on, healthy forests begin to emerge and the negative effects of deforestation begin to disappear.
Employ to Plant
Eden Reforestation Projects uses a unique Employ to Plant model in all of its in-country reforestation programs. The restoration process begins with prioritizing the needs of the local villagers. Combining poverty alleviation with environmental stewardship creates harmony between the villagers and the environment and Eden’s village employees have consistently "fallen in love" with their forests.
This methodology is simple, but very effective in cultivating strong working relationships while at the same time rejuvenating the environment and making the soil plentiful once again. This consistent income provides families a way out of poverty and gives them the funds to send their children to school. Eden Reforestation Projects also helps educate the communities they work in about the importance of trees and maintaining healthy forests.
The organization does this by holding numerous training sessions throughout the year to educate community leaders. Educational materials and lectures are provided to the local community in an effort to educate the next generation and give them an appreciation for their natural environment. This holistic approach is utilized in each of the communities where Eden works. They have learned that life was negatively impacted by the destruction of the forests and quickly become committed to guarding and enjoying the benefits of the newly emerged forest that they planted themselves.
